Friskies has a new web series about how cats dominate the game of life, especially when compared to humans. The Purina-owned cat food brand, known for hit video content like the Dear Kitten series, released its newest video project, titled Life Is a Game, on July 14, 2015.
Produced by Matt Labate at creative agency Reach, the Friskies series Life Is a Game is based on the idea that cats can do everything better than humans. The 12-episode series uses voice-over artists and pulls from over 4,000 user-generated cat-centric clips, which were submitted to the brand’s annual cat video award show, to create short episodes centered around one common human problem or experience.
For example, one episode of Life Is a Game shows several cats reacting to Game of Thrones episodes, jaws dropped and all. Another episode of the Friskies series shows cats super reluctant to go to the gym, while a third episode covers the always-humiliating problem of sending a text to the wrong person.
Overall, the Life Is a Game series encourages human viewers to share episodes on social media that particularly resonate with their personal lives. In addition, various feline personalities such as Grumpy Cat and Waffles the Cat will be uploading and sharing select episodes of Life Is a Game on their social media accounts.
You can watch all of the new Friskies series on the brand’s dedicated YouTube channel. New episodes of Life Is a Game will be released every Tuesday and Thursday through August 20.
