A man who stands as one of the premier travel content creators on YouTube is embarking on his most ambitious project, and he’s teaming up with Discovery Digital Networks (DDN) to do it. Louis Cole, who has more than 1.3 subscribers on his FunForLouis YouTube channel, will circumnavigate the world on Flying The Globe, which will debut across DDN’s new Seeker vertical.
DDN announced Flying The Globe as part of its 2015 Newfronts presentation, where it shared the upcoming programs that will be distributed across its network of category-specific verticals. Cole’s circumnavigational journey will join a host of other shows on Seeker, which launched in March 2015 as a home for globetrotting, adventurous videos.
During his 2-3 month journey, Cole will stop in 22 cities and, according to a press release, “will not only explore the unique offerings of each city he visits, but will also raise awareness about issues facing the communities in each of his destinations.”
“I’m so excited to start Flying the Globe with my friend JP and love that I can do that in partnership with such a respected and awesome network like Discovery Digital Networks’ Seeker,” added Cole. “Being a part of the online community and encouraging others to live their adventure is what FunforLouis is all about, and I can’t wait to see what this new partnership holds for the future.”
Other new projects announced at DDN’s Newfronts presentation include digital destinations related to TV channels like OWN and TLC, as well as expansive networks of live and virtual reality content. In addition, the network will continue to populate its verticals, which include The DeFranco Network and TestTube.
