Brazil’s LiveMode was a big winner at the World Cup. Now it’s coming for Europe’s biggest leagues.

The English Premier League returns for a new season on August 21, and two days later, a Portuguese-language broadcast partner will kick off an innovative strategy. The August 23 tilt between Manchester City and Bournemouth will be the first Premier League match aired by LiveMode, the parent company of record-breaking Brazilian channel CazéTV.

In Brazil and Portugal, LiveMode will broadcast one Premier League match per week for free on YouTube. The company founded in 2017 by Edgar Diniz and Sérgio Lopes has also acquired partial broadcast rights for the UEFA Champions League, which is widely regarded as the world’s biggest international club football competition.

LiveMode made a huge splash during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, when the creator behind CazéTV — whose real name is Casimiro Miguel — broadcast every match on his YouTube channel. Those streams brought Miguel to the top rung of the YouTube ladder. 20 different CazéTV World Cup streams eclipsed the previous record for the most concurrent viewers on a YouTube live stream. Five of those streams, including Miguel’s broadcast of Brazil’s match against Japan, attracted more than 20 million concurrent YouTube viewers. And throughout the duration of the World Cup, CazéTV occupied the #1 spot in our Global Sub Top 50 ranking.

Translation: CazéTV rewrote the playbook for pro sports broadcasts. In the wake of that World Cup success story, LiveMode moved quickly to capitalize on its surging popularity. CazéTV, for example, has secured the broadcast rights for tennis’ WTA Tour

through 2030.

Soccer, however, is LiveMode’s top draw, so the Rio-based company is expanding its presence on the pitch. A deal with ESPN enabled LiveMode’s Premier League broadcasts in Brazil, and in Portugal, a similar agreement with DAZN will pave the way for free, YouTube-based coverage of the Prem.

“The online streaming of Premier League and UEFA Champions League matches reinforces our commitment to bringing fans some of the greatest moments in international football, always through a native and digital experience,” said LiveMode TV General Manager João Mesquita in a statement. “More than just making these games available on YouTube, we want to continue creating a space where fans can follow football their way, sharing every moment with family, friends, and a community that grows with each competition.”

The deal has clear potential for LiveMode, but DAZN stands to benefit, too. The broad reach of creator broadcasts can turn casual viewers into diehard fans. Then, when Portugal’s Premier League newcomers want to watch more than one match per week, they’ll have to sign up for DAZN’s subscription-based service. It’s a similar strategy to the one DAZN has adopted in Britain, where it is letting KSI stream some of the matches of the club he owns, Dagenham & Redbridge FC.

CazéTV’s World Cup streams proved that a new era of sports coverage is imminent, and the upcoming European soccer seasons represent the next frontier for those creator-commentators. LiveMode is already backed by the GOAT of Portuguese sports, Cristiano Ronaldo. Now, it’s trying to become the GOAT of Portuguese sports broadcasters.
