Ellen DeGeneres To Debut Exclusive Clips On Vessel

The Ellen Show isn’t just a leading daytime TV show; it’s also one of the most popular TV programs on the Internet. Clips from the program regularly score millions of views, and now, the first place to see some of them will be Vessel. Ellen Degeneres has teamed up with the new online video platform for a deal that will debut clips exclusively on Vessel 72 hours before they are available anywhere else.

The deal covers 1-2 clips per episode of The Ellen Show, which means that as many as 6 clips will be available exclusively on Vessel at one time. Viewing these videos will require a $2.99 subscription to Vessel’s premium service, though the entire Ellen archive will be available through the site’s free, ad-supported offering.

Degeneres announced the news on her program and offered fans a free year if they sign up for Vessel’s premium service in the next 48 hours. “I am one of those people who likes to be the first to know about new music, and new TV shows, and new movies, and finally, there’s an app for that,” she notes. “It is called Vessel.”

A Vessel representative noted that the decision to add clips from The Ellen Show underscores the site’s mission to offer the best content from both traditional media programs and digital native creators. “With Vessel, our hope is to bring short bursts of happiness to your day, whenever and wherever you need them,” reads a blog post. “The Ellen show’s videos do just that, and we couldn’t be happier to be working with Ellen and her team to offer them through Vessel.”

After the 72-hour period ends, the exclusive clips will be distributed across the web. On YouTube, the official Ellen channel is one of the site’s most popular offerings, with 11.5 million subscribers and more than four billion views.
