StyleHaul, DEFY Media, Eight Others Added To 2015 Newfronts Schedule

In November 2014, the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) announced the preliminary schedule for the 2015 Digital Content Newfronts, which will feature nearly two full weeks of pitches from digital media companies to advertisers. Initially, 24 companies appeared on the Newfronts schedule, but since then, several more have shown interest in presenting at the yearly event. In response to high demand, IAB has added ten more companies to the Newfronts schedule, and it has extended the event an extra day in order to accommodate its wealth of partners.

The updated Newfronts schedule includes ten new companies that were not listed on the initial slate. Therefore, the total number of presenters is now up to 33, a 50% increase over the 2014 Newfronts event.

Many of the new companies on the Newfronts schedule run successful multi-channel networks. Collective Digital Studio, DEFY Media, Endemol Beyond, StyleHaul, and Whistle Sports will all present their upcoming programs to advertisers in New York. The other five newcomers are Beatport, Bloomberg Media, DailyMail.com/Elite Daily, Lin Digital, and The Street. Still absent from the Newfronts is Facebook, which was at one time rumored to be a part of the 2015 schedule

The 2015 edition of Newfronts initially ran from April 27th to May 6th, but the presentations will now run through May 7th, making this year’s nine-day event the longest Newfronts yet. The pitches will continue nonstop; there are only three unoccupied timeslots throughout the two week event.

“Digital video is today’s go-to for consumers looking not only for innovative programming, but for all content, long form or short,” said Anna Bager, SVP of Mobile and Video for IAB. “It brought in $1.5 billion dollars in ad revenue in the first half of 2014 alone, a double-digit increase over the same time the year before – confirming the fact that marketers see great value in tapping into its highly-engaged audiences. Thousands of buy-side attendees flocked to last year’s NewFronts, also demonstrating their incredible enthusiasm for digital video. And, now that we have this rich and diverse, expanded schedule in place, we’re sure that greater numbers of brand executives and media buyers will be lining up for the 2015 event.”

Last year’s Newfronts event was the first one spread across more than one week. This edition will be even bigger, and the busy schedule is evidence of the tremendous growth the web video industry has seen over the past few years.
