Lena Dunham Takes On Fan Questions In Her New Web Series ‘Ask Lena’

The not-so-typical actress and writer, Lena Dunham

, has returned to her production roots. She’s answering fan questions and doling out advice on her new web series Ask Lena.

The series was created to help promote Dunham’s new book called Not That Kind of Girl, which hits bookstore shelves on September 30. Each episode is short — none appear to be over 3 minutes — and they cover pretty hefty topics, such as sex, death, anxiety, insecurity, and feminism. In some episodes, she advocates the viewer to purchase her book, but assures if you don’t, she’ll still give you advice “if we run into each other on the streets at night.”

This isn’t Dunham’s first dance with the web series format. Even though she’s more well-known for her HBO series Girls, the writer-actress started producing work for the web back in 2007. Her first series Tight Shots debuted on Nerve.com that year, and her second series, Downtown Delusional Divas, appeared in 2009.

While Ask Lena isn’t based on a ground-breaking new concept, the series is heartfelt and personal. It’s a great lead-up to her book release, as well as a wonderful way for Dunham to show her fans she cares.
