SMWLA Preview: Successful Beauty Startups Share Their Strategies

What makes a successful beauty brand? At Social Media Week Los Angeles, a panel full of beauty, fashion, and style executives will answer that question. On Friday, September 26th, representatives from six different brands will discuss the best ways to market stylish startups on the web.

The event’s panelists are a mixed group. Some, like Giovanna Alfieri of Trina Turk, have worked to adapt traditional clothing lines to the culture of the Internet. Others, such as Corey Weiss of ipsy, have moved in the reverse direction. With Weiss’ help, ipsy has turned online video influence into a marketable asset. Several other participants, including Alex Zohar of MeUndies

and Allison Beal of StyleSaint, have launched their own clothing lines through the power of social media.

The panel will be hosted by the Magenta Agency, an LA-based group of social media strategists. The event begins Friday, September 26th at 2 PM at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica.
