BroadbandTV (BBTV), the Vancouver, Canada-based technology company and YouTube multi-channel network, has just announced a renewal of its partnership with the National Basketball Association. The two organizations have previously worked together, starting in April 2009, when BBTV was brought on board to manage the NBA’s fan-uploaded content, but this time the organizaitons plans to expand the deal.
“Our commitment to deliver the most advanced solutions possible has allowed us to build upon our relationship with one of the world’s largest and most prestigious content owners,” said Shahrzad Rafati, Founder & CEO of BroadbandTV, in the release. “We’re thrilled to extend the relationship and help the NBA to become even more successful on YouTube.”
While the NBA channel is already hugely successful as the largest professional sports channel on YouTube (thanks to more than 2.2. billion page views and over 5.6 million subscribers), the MCN wants to keep developing and enhancing its content. BBTV believes it can accomplish that by living by “its core values of Creativity, Collaboration, Care and Drive to foster entrepreneurship amongst independent content creators, and to advance the online video industry.”
All in all, BBTV currently boasts more than 20,000 network partners, which generate over two billion monthly views around the globe.
