Comedy Central’s New Sketch Show Takes Suggestions From Social Media

@midnight has been a hit for Comedy Central thanks to a simple combination of social media interaction of the off-the-cuff riffs of notable comedians. The cable channel’s latest web series employs a similar formula. CC:Studios has released CC: Social Scene, where social media suggestions become comedy sketches.

Each CC: Social Scene episode begins on Twitter. Fans are given a subject and are invited to submit their ideas for a sketch based around that subject. For example, the first full episode takes the subject “Worst Break Up Lines” and turns it into a comedic scene about an overly-blunt pair of musicians.

As evidenced by the above sketch, CC: Social Scene boasts a strong cast. Paul Scheer serves as the host, and he headlines a group of performers that includes SourceFed host Lee Newton, Game Shop actor Barak Hardley, and actress Lilan Bowden.

Future episodes of CC: Social Scene will take on topics like “Worst Summer Blockbuster Trailers” and “Oddest Combos at the BBQ”, giving the series an evident summertime flair. New episodes will arrive weekly on Comedy Central’s website and YouTube channel.
