Victorious, Which Lets YouTubers Unite Networks, Is Open For Business

YouTubers who wish to unite their fragmented audiences now have another option. A group of digital media veterans have officially launched Victorious, which aims to assist YouTube content creators who wish to engage with their fans on social and mobile platforms.

Among Victorious’ execs is Bing Chen, who left his position as the leader of YouTube’s creator development initiative last month. Chen will serve as Victorious’ Chief Creative Officer, and his close ties to the YouTube community have helped Victorious secure some big-name users, including Michelle Phan, Shay Carl, Ryan Higa, and Boyce Avenue.

Essentially, Chen and the rest of the Victorious team (which includes CEO Sam Rogoway and CTO Michael Todd) want to help these creators answer the increased fragmentation of their audiences, which are now spread across YouTube, Twitter, Vine, and other social networks. Victorious’ plan for uniting these streams runs through mobile apps it will design

with its clients. “Creators have wanted this for a very, very long time,” Chen told Tubefilter. “It’s also just a function of their fans. for the Millennial generation, the phone is their first screen.”

Victorious is interactive in nature. Chen described one of the company’s main goals as “enabling fans themselves to help create content for the stars.” In a press release, he noted that “fans are no longer passive, lean-back audiences; they’ve become active, participatory tribes in their own right. To that end, Community is the new Fan.”

While Victorious’ big-name users will get the most attention, the platform is now open for everyone. Chen explained there is no specific formula for the company’s services, stressing that “every app is unique.” Creators who are interested in what Victorious has to offer should check out its newly-minted website.
