Psy And Snoop Dogg’s “Hangover” Video Gets 10 Million Views In A Day

If you thought you were done hearing about Psy until “Gangnam Style” reached three billion views, you weren’t ready for “Hangover“. The Korean superstar behind the most popular video in YouTube history has teamed up with Snoop Dogg, and the resulting collaboration has garnered more than 10 million views in its first day on YouTube.

“Hangover” features Psy and Snoop as they recover from a night of heavy drinking. As with all of Psy’s videos, there are plenty of crazy visuals and outrageous dance moves to go along with the blaring pop track. Snoop’s appearance as guest star is no surprise to those who paid attention during the rapper’s legendary Reddit AMA (he also previously appeared on a track from K-Pop superstars Girls Generation.)

The incessant song has

drawn plenty of negative feedback, but among all of the horns and repeated shouts of the word “hangover” lies an interesting exploration of Eastern hangover cures. A Reddit user has done a good job relating the video to Korean drinking culture.

After debuting on Jimmy Kimmel Live, “Hangover” arrived on Psy’s YouTube channel on the night of June 8th. While the 10 million views it scored in its first day on the site may seem like a lot, that is a pedestrian number as far as Psy is concerned. His previous music video, “Gentleman”, needed fewer than two days to reach 40 million views. “Hangover” does seem like it will reach that level, but it is already spreading fast and teaching its viewers some new hangover cures in the process.
