Katie Couric To Interview Innovators In Her New Web Series ‘World 3.0’

Since joining Yahoo in early 2014, Katie Couric has conducted a number high-profile interviews. Couric is now using a new Yahoo series to focus her world-class skills on a specific group of innovators whose stories are worth telling. Couric is the host of World 3.0, in which she will interview men and women who “found answers that improved — and in some cases disrupted — their industries.”

For the first episode of World 3.0, Couric sits down with Brian Chesky, co-founder of Airbnb. Unlike other well-known interviewers who have jumped to the web (Larry King in particular comes to mind), Couric does not limit her series to video. Instead, her interview with Chesky supports a five-part text profile of him, with specific clips adding depth to each section.

World 3.0 helps viewers understand why Couric came to Yahoo in the first place. She is experimenting with presentation and format in a way that would not be possible on network news programs. The result is undoubtedly busy, but Couric’s exhaustive reporting will leave both readers and viewers satisfied.
