Netflix’s ‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 2 Set For June 6 Premiere

The individuals in the Netflix marketing department know what they’re doing. Just one day after the Season 2, all-at-once premiere of the subscription-based streaming video service’s Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning House of Cards was uploaded to the internet, Netflix continued its publicity push and made an official announcement about one of its other popular and accoladed original series.

Orange Is The New Black will return for its second season on Friday, June 6, 2014. Per usual, all 13 episodes of the series about a reformed, female drug mule with a 15-month prison sentence after a decade’s worth of low-profile middle-class life will be available for viewing at the same time. If you have a Netflix subscription and you haven’t seen Season 1 of OITNB, you’re one of the few. The series is actually Netflix’s most-watched original program, though no one except for Netflix executives knows exactly what that means in terms of ratings. OITNB creator, Jenji Kohan recently remarked how she lives in a kind of blissful ignorance, as Netflix higher-ups refuse to tell her exactly how many people have watched her show.
