This Infographic Helps Choose The Best Web-To-TV Device For You

Just in time for the holiday season, the team at Shelby.tv has concocted an infographic that compares and contrasts the various web-to-TV devices currently on the market.

The graphic includes Apple TV, Google’s Chromecast, and both the Roku 3 and the Roku LT; all four devices have strengths and weakness: The Apple TV offers the powerful Airplay system while also offering limited services outside of first-party apps. Chromecast is the cheapest option, but it is only a few months old and is still in the process of acquiring competitive apps. The Roku 3 recently added to its already impressive and cost-efficient arsenal by adding YouTube, but it still does not support iTunes.

“With so many people getting more and more of their entertainment from YouTube and other online sources, cord-cutting just makes sense,” explained Shelby.tv Founder and CEO Reece Pacheco

. “Our friends and users ask us about OTT devices a lot, so we were compelled to just make a quick infographic comparing the top devices out there. Personally, we love the Apple TV because Shelby users can lean back and watch Shelby on their big screen via AirPlay, but Chromecast and Roku are strong choices, too.”

Here is the full infographic, which contains pretty much everything you need to know about the three competitors:

So there you have it. If you’re still looking for gifts, you’re welcome to follow Shelby.tv’s recommendations or draw your own conclusions about the appeal of each device. As far as I’m concerned, nothing can hold a candle to a $5 HDMI cable and an HD-ready TV.
