Follow Channel Will Delve Into The Lives Of Professional Athletes

A recently rebranded YouTube channel is giving us the opportunity to live vicariously through our favorite athletes. The Follow Channel will track particular athletes for a month as they play their way through particularly meaningful portions of their seasons.

The Follow Channel, which is affiliated with the guy-focused Made Man channel (itself a part of Break Media, which has partnered with sports and entertainment production company Tupelo-Honey Raycom for Follow), began as Follow Jimmer, a web series centered around the BYU standout as he attempted to secure a high position in the NBA Draft. As Jimmer Mania has long since died down, Follow needed a new target.

Enter Richard Sherman. Like many other NFL players, the boisterous Seattle Seahawks cornerback likes to talk tr

ash; however, Sherman is one of the few athletes who backs up his big mouth with equally big play. He is the best player on the league’s best defense, and he makes sure his haters get the memo. With Seattle emerging as a Super Bowl contender, now is the most appropriate time to listen to Sherman’s histrionics.

For one month, Follow Richard Sherman will live up to its title. It will present to us its subject’s home life, his off-the-field presence, and his on-field exploits. Once his month is up, The Follow Channel will move on to a new target: Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat, who will be busy defending his team’s second straight title as the NBA season begins. We can only hope the March 2014 edition will follow Canada’s Brad Jacobs as he prepares for the 2014 Curling World Championships.

A month seems like a perfect amount of time for each of these profiles. After all, listening to Sherman yammer on and on for more than 31 days can be hazardous to your health.
