PewDiePie Is The First YouTube Channel Over 13 Million Subscribers

A month after becoming the most subscribed creator on YouTube, PewDiePie is widening his lead. The Swedish gamer has reached 13 million subs, opening up a 700,000 sub difference between his channel and Smosh, the #2 most subscribed channel.

Here are some fun facts about the milestone with the help of data from VidStatsX:

  • If the subscriber difference between PewDiePie and Smosh was its own channel, it would be the 616th most subscribed channel on YouTube.
  • PewDiePie currently has more than two times as many subscribers as the most subscribed channel at this point last year.
  • He’s moving up in views, too. He just passed Rooster Teeth to move into 12th place on the YAll-Time Most Viewed leaderboard, and his view count over the past seven days (42,864,708) is more than Smosh, Jenna Marbles, Ryan Higa, The Fine Bros, Philip Defranco and Ray William Johnson
    combined.
  • Oh, and he’s still releasing videos at an incredible clip. In the past month, he’s released 47 of them. Here’s his latest:

Love him or hate him, PewDiePie is destroying YouTube. His newest milestone illustrates just how much he is pulling away from his fellow creators. It’s as if YouTube is the 1973 Belmont Stakes, PewDiePie is Secretariat, and everyone else is the rest of the field. Except, instead of a horse, he’s a brofisting Swedish guy with a penchant for charity.
