As Companion Hits Stores, Felicia Day Confirms ‘The Guild’ Is Done

Even though it has been more than a half a year since the last episode of The Guild, fans still can’t get enough of Felicia Day‘s seminal web series. An official companion book for the series has now been released, and Day has taken the opportunity  to remind fans that there are no plans to bring back Codex and her cohort of clan members at any point in the near future.

Day says she is “100 percent” certain The Guild is done for good. “If I woke up with an amazing idea for season seven, then booyah, I would have done it,” she explained in an interview with paidContent. “But six years of one show? That’s more than most shows ever get. It was such a peaceful decision that I knew it was the right one.”

The companion, published by Titan Books, is now available at conventional outlets. It features interviews, behind-the-scenes content, and photos, all of which give Guild fanatics plenty of bonus content in lieu of new episodes. “It was very therapeutic — we tried to be very open about our struggles,” said Day. “There are a lot of things in the book that I didn’t even really remember, and reading through the cast member’s experiences gave me more perspective on how they approached the show.”

Of course, even without The Guild, Day and her fellows maintain a large online video presence. Several Guild actors have appeared on Day’s Geek and Sundry channel, and Jeff Lewis is one of the vloggers on the new Geek and Sundry Vlogs channel. Though The Guild is no more, its geeky personae live on.
