Welcome to YouTube Millionaires, where we profile channels that have recently crossed the one million subscriber mark. There are channels crossing this threshold every week, and each has a story to tell about YouTube success. Read previous installments of YouTube Millionaires here.
This edition of YouTube Millionaires is a bit special. We’ve interviewed someone who has passed not just one million, but also two million subscribers. That someone is SeaNanners AKA Adam Montoya, a YouTube gamer who is interesting enough to earn his own feature in CNN. We spoke to Montoya about gaming, Omegle, wine, and anything else that crossed our mind.
Tubefilter: First and foremost, what do you have to say to your two million YouTube fans?
SeaNanners: Hey you…Yeah you…All 2 million of you. Thanks 🙂
TF: How do you think your style distinguishes you from the many other gaming–focused creators on YouTube?
SN: Everyone is a beautiful little internet snow flake. Who really knows for sure? Right place, right time, right attitude? Life is random.
TF: You have had an on-and-off relationship with Machinima in the past. What are your current feelings on the network, and networks in general?
SN: I tend to stay neutral when it comes to the topic of networks. I try not to give it too much thought.
TF: You initially started by mainly posting Call of Duty videos. What made you decide to incorporate a wider range of games into your videos?
SN: Variety is key for me. Playing different games keeps the experience fresh. Big budget, indie, random flash game… It makes no difference to me.
TF: What was the inspiration for the Omegle video you posted when you hit 2M subscribers?
SN: My girlfriend recommend I make an Omegle video. So I made an Omegle video 😛 I’ll probably do it again. It was a ton-o-fun.
TF: You often make videos with your fellow YouTubers. How do these collaborations come about, and is there any particularly channel you would like to create a video with in the future?
SN: YouTube is like any other workplace. As you get to know people, friendships develop. There’s no science or strategy to it. Certain people just “click.”
TF: Any big projects on the horizon?
SN: Yup! It’s a secret though… Sorry.
TF: Finally, your Twitter profile notes your interest in “video games, cooking, and wine.” Do you think certain wines pair better with certain types of games?
SN: I’d recommend pairing a 2010 Flora Springs Cabernet Sauvignon with any game involving dinosaurs. It’s a winning combination.
