Smosh Becomes First YouTube Channel With 9 Million Subscribers

Another month, another epic YouTube milestone for Smosh. On April 11, 2013 the comedy duo comprised of Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla became the first channel to cross the 9 million subscriber mark.

It reached the unprecedented number just 39 days after becoming the first YouTube channel to cross the 8 million subscriber mark. That makes for roughly 25,641 new Smosh subscribers per day, 1,068 new subs per hour, and 17 new subs per minute during the channel’s quick trek from 8 million to 9 million subscribers. (That also means Smosh is acquiring subscribers at a slightly higher rate than it was before. It took all of 41 days for the channel to go from 7 million to 8 million subs

.)

Smosh is still firmly planted atop YouTube’s All-Time Most Subscribed chart, with the former number one subscribed channel Ray William Johnson in second place and Jenna Marbles making quick moves up the ranks in third.
