Adam Carolla may be embroiled in a patent troll lawsuit, but that’s not stopping the top podcaster from taking his game to YouTube. Carolla and Epic Meal Time leading man Harley Morenstein are featured in the debut episode of Animashups, which features animated versions of audio podcasts from the Video Podcast Network library.
The Video Podcast Network is a new channel dedicated to producing video versions of top podcasts, including Adam Carolla, Earwolf, and Big 3 Live. To spice things up, the network is partnering with a series of animation companies, including Tinman Creative, who handled the initial episode. The result is Animashups, which combines chatty podcast humor with rapidfire animation. Oh, and at least for this go-round, there’s plenty of Sauce Boss, making things that much sexier.
The
featured podcast will rotate, but we can be sure that Carolla will be featured most frequently. Stating his excitement at becoming one of the world’s most famous animated characters, Carolla quipped, “Suck it Dora the Explorer, if that is even your real name.”Chris Hardwick’s success in both podcasting and YouTubing shows that the two media are closely related. But the synergy doesn’t end there. “Animation and comedy are a classic combo. Why not marry the two on Valentine’s Day?,” said Video Podcast Network EVP Mickey Meyer. “We’re excited to see what fans and listeners think of Animashups as a whole new way to experience our variety of podcasts.” At the very least, Animashups has introduced the world to the concept of bear pie, and for that I am grateful.
