Hit The Slopes With Female Snowboarders In ESPN’s ‘P.S.’

Snowboarder Hana Beaman has carved out a nice career for herself as a perennial top ten finisher in snowboarding events at the Winter X-Games. Beaman’s greatest gift to the snowboarding community, however, is P.S., an all-girl web series which recently scored a distribution deal with ESPN for its third season.

P.S. follows Beaman and her collection of gal pals as the hit the slopes. The first two seasons of the show were independently hosted on YouTube, where several installments were able to reach five digit views

. For season three, however, the episodes will be featured on ESPN’s official X-Games blog, where two new videos will debut each month. “This year will be interesting, because we have certain goals. Like I’m trying to see if I can make the Olympic slopestyle team and at the same time trying to film a backcountry part and do a double cork,” said Beaman. “Knowing how things go with us, there will probably be some drama. It’ll be a little crazier. Last year was focused a lot on just snowboarding. This year is going to have a lot more behind-the-scenes stuff.”

With the rampant success of Red Bull‘s extreme sports videos and the positive response garnered by smaller channels such as Network_A, ESPN is smart to buy into the world of high-octane sports web series. The sports giant’s premium content presence has recently grown with the inclusion of its Grantland channel in the YouTube Original Channels Initiative. With P.S., The Worldwide Leader in Sports is showing it wants to extend that title to online video as well.
