Popular YouTube Performer Kurt Hugo Schneider Joins Alloy Digital

Alloy Digital, the distribution company that has can count Smosh and Clevver among its signed clients, today added another big name to its repertoire. Alloy has announced that Kurt Hugo Schneider, the YouTube musician who has earned over 460 million video views,  has agreed to partner with the network. “Alloy has a great track record helping content creators maximize their potential,” commented Schneider. “I’m excited to work with Alloy on new opportunities to expand my brand and offer great new content for my fans.”

Schneider has gained a huge following thanks to the cover versions and mashups of popular songs he has produced, which often feature the talented pianist playing multiple instruments at once (accomplished by splicing together various takes). Though Schneider is the main performer on his eponymous channel, he features several other musicians on the page. The most notable featured performer is Sam Tsui, a big-voiced singer who, among other pursuits, performs as a one man a capella group.

Schneider first partnered with the network when he helped write music for Smosh’s cover version of the Pokemon Theme Song

. Apparently, that role helped bring the deal together. “Ever since Kurt collaborated with Smosh on Pokemon Revenge, we have wanted to have a deeper relationship,” commented Barry Blumberg, EVP of Alloy Digital. “Kurt has done an amazing job building out his brand, developing artists and making great content and we look forward to working closely with him and helping to take his career to the next level”.

Schneider recently penned the theme song for Runaways, a teen drama on AwesomenessTV.

As for Schneider’s upcoming releases, he has several intriguing projects on the horizon. He and Tsui recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund a full length album for Tsui. The team easily passed their $30,000 dollar goal, raising almost $50,000 dollars (and there’s still three weeks left in the campaign!) In addition, Schneider will soon present a live stream event, KHSLive!, which will air on November 17. Schneider can now prepare his covers for that event knowing that Alloy has him covered as well.
