Clevver Media was one of the first members of YouTube’s Billion Views Club. The entertainment oriented, multimedia umbrella news brand recently acquired by Alloy Digital made it across the ten-figure viewcount threshold sometime back in August 2011 thanks to the aggregate number of eyeballs that tuned into its then-four online video properties, including ClevverTV, ClevverGames, ClevverMovies, and ClevverMusic. Now, one of those properties is a member of YouTube’s Billion Views Club all on its own.
ClevverTV’s viewcount ticked past 1,000,000,000 this week, giving it a place in the pantheon of wildly successful YouTube channels alongside other titles, networks, and online video platforms like Smosh, Barely Political, Roosterteeth, Hulu (yes, Hulu), and more.
It took the YouTube channel executive produced and hosted by Dana Ward and Joslyn Davis (who have both been delivering entertainment news and movie trailers to the internet connected masses by way of ClevverTV since the program’s very first view) four years, four months, and 20-some-odd days to rank amongst the aforementioned company. That averages out to roughly 622,277 views per day
, 25,928 views per hour, 432 views per minute, and 7.2 views per second across 8,426+ uploaded videos, which also averages out to roughly 119,000 views per video.“This is an exhilarating moment for ClevverTV and marks an important milestone in its history, becoming a member of an exclusive group of YouTube content providers exceeding one billion views,” said Alloy Digital Executive VP and Smosh President Barry Blumberg. (Editor’s Note: Alloy Digital acquired Smosh in 2011.)
“We got into business with Clevver Media Co-Founders Michael Palmer and Jorge Maldonado because we saw their unwavering commitment to quality and knew that, combined with Alloy Digital’s strong editorial family and the incredible power of YouTube, Clevver had unlimited potential,” continued Blumberg. “This is only the beginning.”
