Comedian Bobby Lee, long time member of Fox’s MadTV, has joined Maker Studios to reload veteran YouTube comedy network The Station.
“I have my own channel and I can be as crazy as I want to be?!” said Lee. “On the other hand they say I have to start tweeting now. They’ll regret that.”
The Station started as a collaboration between some of the earliest and most successful members of the original YouTube Partner Program, including KassemG, LisaNova, Totally Sketch, Shane Dawson, Shay Carl, and (for a very short stint) Phil DeFranco.
“Maker is proud to premiere Bobby’s new channel and we’re excited for the upcoming relaunch of The Station
where he’ll be featured, along with a number of other amazing new talent from both the web and traditional media which will be announced in the coming months,” Maker Executive Will Keenan told Tubefilter.“We’re delighted to be working with Bobby Lee,” said Maker Executive Producer Mickey Meyer. He’ll be able to let loose with his very own channel and in sketch comedy videos on The Station.”
YouTube recently greenlit three Original Channels for Maker Studios as a part of its $100 million premium content initiative announced last fall.
