FaZe Clan’s ‘Rig Raiders’ is ‘Pimp My Ride’ for the custom PC crowd

What do you get when you cross high-end computer builds with classic MTV programming? FaZe Clan‘s Rig Raiders provides the answer.

The new series is a contemporary take on Pimp My Ride, the mid-aughts favorite that brought outlandish vehicles to the masses. This time, instead of tricking out old cars, the Rig Raiders team is delivering custom PCs to celebrity guests.

Rig Raiders is hosted by Nuke Squad, a gamer group whose members are partnered with FaZe Clan. The show’s headliner is FaZe Swagg, a top-tier Call of Duty: Warzone player who turned heads when he signed an exclusive streaming contract with YouTube last year. He’s joined on Rig Raiders by his buddies FaZe Santana, FaZe Booya, and FaZe JSmooth.

To create the PCs of their dreams, the Nuke Squad boys teamed up with Xfinity, which provided guidance through its X-Lab team. As a result, the machines in Rig Raiders feature top-of-the-line processors, monitors, and peripherals.

In the inaugural episode of Rig Raiders

, the guest is rapper Don Toliver, who received a pimped-out PC for his studio. At the end of the episode, Toliver delivers a $10,000 donation to his alma mater, Hastings High School.

FaZe Clan is looking to rebound from a rough year. Since going public last July, the gaming and entertainment organization has been plagued by declining share prices, multiple rounds of layoffs, and infighting between its new and O.G. members. Rig Raiders is a reminder that FaZe Clan still boasts ties to many popular creators, even during a lean period.

In total, the first season of Rig Raiders will include three installments. Episode two, featuring NBA player Anfernee Simons, is out on July 21. Before the series ends, I hope that Nuke Squad and Xfinity will aim for the most ridiculous PC design they can think up. Come on, guys. Put a hot tub inside of a computer, you cowards!
