Theorist Media

Theorist Media is hitting the catwalk with its fifth YouTube channel

When Theorist Media was acquired by new startup Lunar X in December, MatPat said the deal had “enabled us to do something we’ve been wanting to do for the past year: launch the next Theorist channel.”

Now, that channel is officially live on YouTube.

The Style Theorists is Theorist Media’s fifth channel, and is “dedicated to uncovering the mysteries and myths of the fashion industry,” Lunar X said in a press release.

It added, “Historically, the style space on YouTube and other new media platforms has been dominated by beauty gurus, shopping ‘hauls,’ and quick DIYs, but Style Theory aims to provide viewers with a smart, sophisticated look at the industry, teaching them everything about the way they look from the history of their outfits to the chemistry of their shampoo.”

In his own statement, MatPat said the launch of The Style Theorists “is the latest step in our growth and is a testament to the incredibly talented team we have grown at Theorist.”

Theorist Media has been developing The Style Theorists for a year, and is debuting it with five launch episodes: one about why women’s trousers don’t have pockets, one about whether facial symmetry is the key to beauty, one about what would be required to make a superhero’s suit, one about whether modern makeup is poisonous, and one testing whether you could actually kill someone with a high-heeled shoe.

Theorist Media also operates its flagship channel The Game Theorists (16.6 million subscribers), along with The Film Theorists (11.7 million), The Food Theorists (4.24 million), and GTLive (3 million).
