Creator-focused fintech company Creative Juice is launching an incubator program for Black content-makers.
The program’s inaugural class will include five creators, each of whom will receive $5,000 cash plus mentorship and education.
Creative Juice—which was founded in 2021, has raised $20 million to date, and offers a range of financial services, including Juice Funds, where creators invest in one another—designed the program in partnership with two Black creators: Jade Beason and Sofi Ibrahim.
Beason is a self-dubbed “creator coach” who spent eight years working in marketing, and Ibrahim is founder of media brand The Odditty, with a presence across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
“Helping creators grow means increasing our support of underrepresented communities,” Creative Juice said in a statement. “Creating a more inclusive creator economy means increasing our investment to support underrepresented creators.”
It adds that it’s worked with Black creators like Lorissa Nelson, who has 300,000 subscribers on YouTube and originally launched her channel because she struggled to find beauty content aimed at Black women. Nelson received an undisclosed amount from Creative Juice’s Juice Funds, and used that money to upgrade her equipment and “invest in mentorship to take my brand to the next level,” she said.
She added that since receiving the funds, her overall revenue has increased by 14%.
Applications for Creative Juice’s incubator are open here from Feb. 1 through Feb. 17. To qualify, creators must identify as Black, be 18 years old, live in the United States, and have at least 25,000 YouTube subscribers.
