TikTok Star Rochelle ‘Roe’ Hager Killed In Tragic Car Accident

TikTok star Rochelle ‘Roe’ Hager died on Monday after a large pine tree limb struck her car during heavy winds as she was driving to work. The Maine resident was 31.

Both Hager and her fiancee, Brittanie Lynn Ritchie, have substantial followings on their TikTok accounts — to the tune of 217,000 and 392,000 followers, respectively — comprising comedic clips, challenges, and other day-in-the-life style content, while documenting their relationship and promoting LGBTQ+ equality. (They also vend a collaborative merch line on Etsy).

Hager and Ritchie were engaged to be married in October, reports Central Maine, and were planning to add to their family. In addition to her social media presence, Hager served as the executive chef at The Woodlands, a senior facility. Hager — known to her friends as Roe — grew up in Florida but her parents live in Pennsylvania. She’d moved to Maine in August.

“We had a following on TikTok, and she was all about positivity and making people laugh,” Ritchie told the Central Maine. “She was a huge advocate for addiction and she survived it and was clean for over 10 years. When she got through that, she went to culinary school in Florida. She was amazing.”

Ritchie shared on TikTok that she is asking the community to wear black and yellow tomorrow in Hager’s honor — a nod to her love for the Pittsburgh Steelers — and to use the hashtag #RoeStrong in any commemorative videos. Celebrations of her life are being planned in Pittsburgh and Florida, per Central Maine.
