Snapchat‘s former top content executive, Nick Bell, has joined merch platform Teespring in an advisory capacity.
Bell, who formerly served as Snapchat’s VP of content until departing the company in November after five years, will assist Teespring in expanding its focus on the digital creator community.
Teespring — which enables users to design, promote, and vend their own merchandise — recently announced that it had become profitable after struggling for years, following the appointment of new CEO Chris Lamontagne. The company is predicting it will hit $1 billion in lifetime merch sales this year, and operates partnerships with YouTube and Twitch that enable video stars to vend merch directly on their channels on each respective platform. Lamontagne also said that the company is eyeing a global expansion.
“I’ve had my eye on Teespring for a while,” Bell — who launched Snapchat Discover and Snapchat’s Original Shows ventures — said in a statement. “This hardworking global team are changing the game in social commerce and I’m looking forward to supporting their continued growth.”
