Famous Birthdays Reaches 20 Million Monthly Users, Launches Trivia Outpost

Famous Birthdays, the online database comprising basic biographical info and interesting tidbits about digital stars — with an emphasis on Gen Z personalities — has just surpassed 20 million monthly unique visitors, up from the 18 million users that the platform last reported in November.

At the same time, Famous Birthdays announced that its Spanish outpost, Famous Birthdays Español, has clocked 2 million monthly users since its launch in July — up from 1 million users in November, founder Evan Britton tells Tubefilter.

The service, which also furnishes a perpetually-updated popularity ranking of its buzziest and most-searched-for stars, has released several new initiatives in recent months in order to amplify engagement and expand usage beyond one-off searches. In November, the company unveiled a video platform, and said it would produce unscripted clips with top Gen Z influencers like Annie LeBlanc and Baby Ariel

— including Q&As, games and challenges, event coverage, performances, and birthday-themed content. Videos are distributed natively on Famous Birthdays, with some rolling out to YouTube as well.

And more recently, Famous Birthdays launched a trivia outpost, whereby fans can test their knowledge of social stars — with games like ‘Who Ranks Higher?’ and ‘Guess Their Age’. Quizzes consist of 10 questions, and players receive scores upon conclusion in comparison to how others performed. Questions revolve around shows that are massively popular with the Gen Z set, including Dance Moms, Fuller House, and Stranger Things.

Famous Birthdays launched in 2012 courtesy of the entrepreneur Evan Britton, and currently counts roughly 150,000 total profiles.
