Facebook Watch has just upped the star wattage of a forthcoming series called Queen America — a beauty pageant drama starring Hollywood veteran Catherine Zeta-Jones.
In the series, Jones portrays a renowned pageant coach who must mold a hapless young girl into a worthwhile contender. Today, Facebook added Jennifer Westfeldt (Younger) and Victoria Justice (pictured above) to the cast. Westfeldt will portray a competing pageant coach, while Justice will play a beautiful-but-spoiled protege who has been primed for pageant fame since the age of 12.
Queen America
is created, written, and executive produced by Meaghan Oppenheimer (Fear The Walking Dead). Rounding out the cast are Belle Shouse, Teagle F. Bougere, Rana Roy, Isabella Amara, Molly Price, and Megan West. Nascent indie studio Wiip will produce alongside Made Up Stories, while Aussie filmmaker Alethea Jones will direct all 10 episodes. In addition to Zeta-Jones, Facebook has pacted with several other bold-faced names on upcoming projects, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Kerry Washington, and Jada Pinkett Smith.
