Live.me Launches First Music-Centric Series ‘You Need The Code’

Livestreaming platform Live.me is teaming up with music production company The Code to launch its first-ever live music-themed series.

Dubbed You Need The Code, the show will help expose 14 indie artists to Live.me’s global audience of 40 million viewers. It kicked off earlier this month and will run through May 31, featuring live concerts, Q&As, record release parties, and backstage studio sessions with emerging Code artists like Crystal the Doll, Alahna Ly, Courtney Bell, Angelique Sabrina, Brianna Lee, Kevo Hendricks, and Sino.

“We’ve seen lots of independent artists connect with new fans over the years using Live.me,” said the company’s head of marketing and partnerships, Khudor Annous. “Our goal is to continue to give a platform to artists we felt would make an impact in music culture.” Live.me — which snagged $50 million in venture funding

from Chinese web giant Bytedance last year — has launched other regular series, including the HQ Trivia-inspired QuizBiz (which has featured Roman Atwood and Jake Paul as guest hosts) as well as a variety show called Spotlight Live!
