Roman Atwood Will End His Daily Vlogging Streak To Search For “Something Bigger”

Roman Atwood, who has established himself as one of YouTube’s top creators, plans to scale back the frequency of his vlogs. The prankster-turned-family man, whose primary channel has attracted 14.3 million subscribers and netted more than 4.5 billion views, announced that he will end his daily vlogging streak in order to try out different types of content.

Atwood announced his decision in a video he hosted alongside his girlfriend Brittney Smith. After posting daily vlogs for 86 days in a row, Atwood now wants to experiment with other formats. “I have reached a mental point where I want to create something bigger,” Atwood said. He noted that he could try to create “weekly movies” that are around 90 minutes in length, and he also suggested that he could launch a new channel. “I want to do something new and fresh and big and maybe more exciting,” he said.

Atwood is no stranger to change. Once a popular prankster, he has in recent years completely remade his content brand, focusing it around his family. In slowing down the rate of his vlog, he noted that he could start streaming more on Twitch, where he and Smith may broadcast together.

Ultimately, Atwood stressed that he has no plans to give up his vlog entirely, and he even surmised that he could resume daily vlogging if he finds he misses the format. For now, though, he is taking a small “step back,” which he says is inspired by the move his friend Casey Neistat made last year. Whatever he has planned, we look forward to seeing it.
