Harley Morenstein is steering the Famous Food Truck into town. The man known as the co-founder of the Epic Meal Time YouTube channel is the star of the latest special from Scripps Lifestyle Studios‘ Genius Kitchen brand, in which he puts together some breakfast sandwiches alongside social media star Hayes Grier.
The Famous Food Truck of the special’s title doesn’t seem to refer to a world-renowned mobile restaurant, but rather to a roving kitchen that happens to have famous people inside it. Morenstein’s signature touches, including his love of bacon and his tendency to bleep out curse words with wacky sound effects, are all present here, and his bold attitude drives the special, no pun intended. That said, the vibe is very easygoing, with Morenstein, Grier, and chef Lindsay Ames presiding over a loose, fun-loving culinary atmosphere.

Famous Food Truck joins the other millennial-facing shows Genius Kitchen has launched since its inception. The brand’s first original series, GK Now, stars Akilah Hughes and Mike Lockyer.
Scripps is best known for its lineup of cable channels, which includes HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, and Cooking Channel. “With Famous Food Truck and all the content on Genius Kitchen, we are bringing in social influencers and digital talent who appeal to younger viewers raised on YouTube and social media,” said Rich Lacy, SVP of Genius Kitchen, in a press release.
Genius Kitchen currently has close to four million followers on Facebook. One of its video recipes, for “pizza skulls,” has been viewed more than 70 million times.
