Support for YouTube TV has arrived today on Google Home — meaning that those who own one of the smart speaker devices can control YouTube’s live television service using voice commands.
The new feature is compatible on Google’s just-released Home Mini and Home Max — as well as earlier devices — and requires that the YouTube TV app is running on a Chromecast-connected television. Users can tell their Google Home devices to play a specific channel or show, according to a blog post, with other commands including record, play, pause, stop, rewind, turn captions on, and fast forward.

shows — The Verge notes that the integration is part of Google’s continued bid to merge its media properties with its hardware launches. Last week, for instance, Google added voice control for the Chromecast — a dongle that links users’ mobile devices and smart TV sets.YouTube TV, which is launching its first major national ad campaign during the MLB World Series this month, is currently nearing the completion of its U.S. rollout.
