Kian Lawley Lands Next Starring Role In Horror Feature ‘Monster Party’

Perhaps no YouTube creator has led a more seamless transition into the movie industry like 21-year-old Kian Lawley, who just landed his next big part.

Lawley will star in Monster Party, a horror thriller, alongside Sam Strike (EastEnders) and Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck), according to The Hollywood Reporter. Directed by Chris von Hoffmann (Drifter), the film is about three teenage thieves who infiltrate a mansion dinner party that they don’t know is being hosted by a serial killer cult.

Rounding out the cast are Erin Moriarty (Jessica Jones), Diego Boneta (Rock Of Ages), and Robin Tunney (The Craft). Monster Party, which is currently in post-production, is being produced by Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Insidious) and Fred Berger (La La Land) of Automatik, as well as Eric Fleischman of Diablo Entertainment and Jesse Berger of Radical Studios.

Lawley, who is repped by CAA and Flip Management, has starred in several features thus far, including: Zac And Mia, a romance about two teens undergoing cancer treatment that’s slated to premiere on Netflix; high school drama Before I Fall; coming-of-age story Shovel Buddies; Boo! A Madea Halloween; and horror feature The Chosen. Lawley, who headlines the Kian And JC YouTube channel alongside fellow vlogger-actor JC Caylen, also stars in the Fullscreen series H8ters.

“I think Monster Party serves as a testament to not only Chris’ ability to blend genres together (until they bleed), but a commentary on the growing social issues in today’s society and just how violent some people actually are,” Fleischman told the Reporter of the film, which has no release date just yet.
