The rise of online video has produced a number of digital stars who have achieved success while still in their teens. As those stars continue to grow and nurture their careers, they are taking assistance from big-name talent agencies. The latest creator to join forces with a major talent shop is Matthew Espinosa, a 19-year-old who will now be represented by the Abrams Artists Agency.
Espinosa is one of many creators who first gained digital prominence through the six-second video capture app Vine but has since spread his influence across multiple platforms. He counts millions of fans on YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter, and remains active on all those channels.
With his dedicated following spurring him on, Espinosa has launched several high-profile projects. He recently starred in a film called Be Somebody, which performed well on video on-demand platforms. In October 2016, he announced the launch of his first book, titled More Than Me. It includes question-and-answer sessions with him as well as fresh photos.
Through his deal with Abrams, Espinosa will be able to pursue more projects across digital and traditional platforms. “I’m really excited to be with AAA,” he said. “They see my vision and I know they will give me the tools to help guide me where I want to be as an actor and creator. ”
Abrams has offices in Los Angeles and New York. Other creators it has signed deals with include Furious Pete and Brittani Louise Taylor.
