In New PSA, YouTube Stars Casey Neistat, Charles Trippy Say Ending Sexual Assault Is “On Us”

The election may be over, but YouTube stars are still using their influence to advance the causes that are important to them. The latest PSA to feature prominent digital content creators is called “We Can,” and it’s part of the “It’s On Us” campaign, which fights back against sexual assault on college campuses.

The PSA, which aired on TV during the November 15th premiere of the MTV program Sweet/Vicious, features a number of top influencers: Jeana of BF vs. GF, Casey Neistat, Charles Trippy, Grayson “The Professor” Boucher, K.L. Cao, Chase Jarvis, and Eric Dunn. They are joined by several “heroes” who earned that title by intervening when they witnessed instances of sexual assault. Together, the influencers and the heroes urge viewers into action by reminding them that ordinary people have the ability to stand up for what’s right.

The “We Can” spot comes from the allied agencies Mekanism and Epic Signal. It was also produced by Above Average and post-production services were provided by Broadway Video. “With the goal of reaching the young adults, it only makes sense for the It’s On Us campaign to collaborate with digital stars and incorporate them into the campaign,” said Epic Signal Founder and EVP Brendan Gahan in a press release. “Digital celebrities are more influential among teens than traditional celebrities, and by bringing them into the campaign, we can reach their engaged and loyal fan bases in a way that will really resonate.”

The It’s On Us campaign, now two years old, has received more than two billion total impressions. Its success has led to 1,700 student-run events across 360 college campuses.
