The Feature Film ‘FML,’ Starring Viners Jason Nash And Brandon Calvillo, Has Arrived

The latest movie within the so-called “influencer film” genre has arrived. FML, a road trip comedy that stars Viners Jason Nash and Brandon Calvillo as fictionalized versions of their social media personae, is now available for digital download from iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon.

In FML, Nash and Calvillo come together to travel across the country. Their goal is simple: Create collaborative videos with all of the creators they meet during their journey, while simultaneously ironing out the issues in their personal and professional lives.

FML contains several of the qualities that have become commonplace within the world of influencer films. For one, its stars are engaging in a form of self-parody that will seem familiar to anyone who checked out Internet Famous. In addition, there will be plenty of cameos from Nash and Calvillo’s

colleagues in the online video world, with YouTube star Bart Baker’s turn as the morally-bankrupt creator Mike $wagg receiving the most pre-release press.

Finally, like most other influencer films, FML producer Digital Riot Media (which made a deal with Nash and Calvillo after their failed to reach their funding goal on Kickstarter) is eschewing a wide theatrical rollout in favor of a digital-first release strategy that caters to the Internet-loving fans who watch Nash and Calvillo’s videos on Vine and elsewhere. If you want to pick up a copy of the film, it will cost you at least $9.99; if you want to pick up the deluxe edition of FML, it will cost you an extra $3.
