YouTube’s NextUp Program Seeks Creators Across Five Continents

Back in February, YouTube shared its plan to award equipment, mentorship, and other goodies to a group of 360 up-and-coming creators through its NextUp program. Over the course of the year, the video site has revealed more than 200 creators around the globe whom have been selected as part of the NextUp class of 2016; now, it’s time to round out the field of 360. YouTube has announced that the final round of its 2016 NextUp contests are now open, and creators from five different continents have been invited to apply.

YouTube is using its global production facilities as the hubs of its NextUp program. Creators who have between 10,000 and 100,000 subscribers and live near the YouTube Spaces in LA, New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Sao Paulo, and Tokyo are invited to apply for a NextUp slot; in addition, a space in Bangkok will cater to Thai up-and-comers, while creators from the Middle East and North Africa will meet in the Jordanese capital of Amman. A full list of eligible countries as well as corresponding YouTube Spaces for each one can be found in a YouTube blog post

.

Creators who are selected as part of the 2016 NextUp class will receive a $2,500 production voucher as well as invitations to exclusive camps (the schedule for those can be found here) and a number of channel management perks. In announcing its next round of NextUp contests, YouTube also shared some highlights from a few of the winners’ camps that have already happened this year.
