YouTube Star Lauren Elizabeth To Star As Dodgers Die-Hard In AwesomenessTV Web Series

With less than a month left before the Major League Baseball (MLB) postseason kicks off, AwesomenessTV is taking its viewers out to the ballgame. The digital media company, which appeals to teens and tweens, has announced Out Of My League, a scripted romance series that will star YouTube star and actress Lauren Elizabeth as a die-hard Los Angeles Dodgers fan.

In Out Of My League, Elizabeth will portray Claire, a woman who is content to spend her whole summer at Dodger Stadium. During the season, she becomes wrapped up with Chase (portrayed by fellow YouTuber Brian Redmon), who has little baseball knowledge but lots of interest in Claire. A story of young love will follow, with Dodgers power hitter Joc Pederson showing up for what a press release calls a “special appearance.”

Out Of My League will be Elizabeth’s latest foray into a scripted role; more so than many of her peers, the 22-year-old vlogger has shown an interest in expanding her career as an actress. Previously, she starred alongside Jenn McAllister in a feature film called Bad Night

, which was co-produced by employees of AwesomenessTV-owned talent management company Big Frame.

The MLB is also looking to get some good publicity out of AwesomenessTV’s new show. It is co-producing Out Of My League in order to raise its cachet among younger fans. “At Major League Baseball, we’re committed to continuing our efforts to find new and innovative mediums to engage with our fans,” said Felicia Principe, the MLB’s Director of Brand Advertising and Marketing at Major League Baseball, in a press release. “AwesomenessTV’s unique ability to create high valued productions with influencer talent made them the ideal partner to bring a true baseball experience to our younger fans. We would like to thank our partners at the Los Angeles Dodgers for their assistance and direction in bringing unrivaled authenticity to this project.”

The first episode of Out Of My League will arrive on September 19th. New installments will arrive each week leading up to the finale, which will arrive on October 24th, one day before the start of the 2016 World Series.
