Reelio’s New ‘Greenlight’ Service Lets Marketers Sponsor Creators’ Passion Projects

Influencer marketing platform Reelio has today launched Reelio Greenlight, a new service that will give marketers the ability to search through a library of prospective projects from creators — before each production has gone live — for potential brand integration opportunities.

The publishers, agencies, and media companies currently using Reelio’s enterprise platform will gain access to Greenlight first, though interested creators and brands can request access here. Once inside, marketing execs can browse “brand-ready” projects, according to Reelio, via treatments, storyboards, video descriptions, and samples of similar content. Greenlight will also provide detailed proposals and audience data for each of the creators and projects listed.

Creators on board for the launch of Reelio Greenlight are extreme sports vlogger DevinSuperTramp, musician Andrew Huang, and sketch comedy group Third String Kicker. The passion projects that each of these creators is looking to make “go well beyond unboxing videos and product reviews, with more emphasis on production quality, good storytelling and creativity,” said Reelio co-founder and CEO Pete Borum

in a statement.

The Reelio Greenlight library will be searchable via influencer name or content category — with a roster of influencers ranging from 100,000 to 10 million subscribers. Greenlight was established, Reelio says, after a slew of creators requested assistance in finding funding for their passion projects.

“As ad-blocking, ad-skipping, and cord-cutting continue to rise, advertising executives are thinking more like studio executives and looking to tell compelling stories rather than interrupting them with commercials,” Borum added. “Greenlight makes it possible for them to do this much more successfully by tapping into the ideas, audiences, and abilities of online video creators who are looking to align with a brand name.”

Four-year-old Reelio said it plans to roll out additional features for Greenlight later this summer.
