Social Media Week Los Angeles Is June 8 – 12, Here’s What You Can Expect

Social Media Week Los Angeles 2015 (SMWLA) is just around the corner. From June 8-12, 2015, hundreds of industry executives and professionals will meet to discuss everything happening in the world of social media. And the entire event promises to be full of can’t-miss sessions and speakers.

Hosted at the Bergamot Station Arts Center, SMWLA will include a keynote conversation with BuzzFeed’s Ze Frank about everything he’s learned about the emotions and attitudes towards viral sharing, and what’s in store for BuzzFeed Motion Pictures. Later, SMWLA will have a chat with Vine superstars Cameron Dallas and Nash Grier about their entertainment industry endeavors across multiple platforms, as well as a sneak peek at their highly-anticipated and soon-to-debut mobile application.

Michelle Phan and Endemol Beyond will host a session about ICONS and the new breed of digital celebrities, while Indiewire

will discuss how digital distribution is changing the film industry. There are also plenty of panels, presentations, and classes sessions on how to analyze and act on social data, deal with privacy issues online, and how to up your Snapchat game.

SMWLA sessions will also cover some of today’s most pressing cultural and social issues. One panel will cover California’s recent drought and how it has changed the behavior of the Golden State’s residents. There’s even a session on how cannabis-based technology is set to grow exponentially over the coming years.
