Endemol Beyond To Market Michelle Phan’s ICON Network Shows At MIPTV

For the first time, Endemol Beyond will make a pitch at MIPTV. The YouTube multi-channel network has announced its programming lineup for the 2015 edition of the Cannes-based distribution and content development event, where it will market Michelle Phan’s all-new ICON Network.

Phan launched her new network (which is a re-branding and expansion of her FAWN initiative) in the US and UK in March 2015. ICON boasts lifestyle content from a wide variety of creators, and plans to soon expand to Asia and Europe. Endemol will be shopping shows from Phan’s network around to marketers and broadcasters at MIPTV in the hopes the content attracts a distribution deal or even a possible sale.

Endemol will also be promoting its UK-based web series Legends of Gaming at MIPTV. The series features popular YouTube gamer Ali-A, and pits e-sports YouTubers against each other for the title of ultimate gamer. Endemol has already successfully sold the series in Germany, Brazil, France, and the United States.

The MCN also has plans to market a range of finished programming to potential buyers. The first piece of content included in this slate is the channel Simon’s Cat, which boasts over 3.4 million subscribers. Endemol will also promote the People are Awesome channel, which has more than 200 million all-time video views, as well as the French comedy sketch show The Woop Gang (115 million total views).

“Our presence at MIPTV 2015 is further evidence of how far Endemol Beyond has come since launching globally 18 months ago as well as how much the market for content originating from the digital video space has developed,” said Georg Ramme, the Managing Director of Endemol Beyond International, in a release. “With a diverse line up of formats that can be adapted in any market and a strong slate of finished programming, all of which can play on either traditional or online platforms, we are taking further steps to mirror the success of our established TV business.”

MIPTV attendees can visit Endemol Beyond and see the network’s entire programming lineup in the Riviera Hall at R8.E1/E15 from April 13-16, 2015. Endemol currently boasts over 500 million monthly views across all its partner channels.
