Tyler Oakley Launches Prizeo Campaign To Raise $500,000 For The Trevor Project

On March 22nd, YouTube vlogger Tyler Oakley will turn 26, and as with previous birthdays, he will celebrate by raising a six-digit sum for charity. Oakley has once again launched a Prizeo campaign in support of The Trevor Project, and in less than one day, it has already raised more than 20% of its $500,000 goal.

This is the second year in a row Oakley will use Prizeo to support his birthday charity drive. Last year, he used the crowdfunding site to raise more than $525,000 for The Trevor Project, which offers support for young LGBT individuals. This year, he’s aiming for a similar total, and he’s offering some neat prizes in exchange for donations. Anyone who contributes to the Prizeo campaign earns raffle tickets, and one of those contributors will ultimately win the grand prize: A trip to VidCon, complete with airfare, hotel, and a hangout sesh with Oakley himself.

Oakley–who has more than 6.4 million subscribers on his YouTube channel–explains the details of his latest fundraising drive in a video on his channel. whether you’ve been subscribed for years, whether you just now have found me, whether you’re a dad, or a mom, or an organization that needs a tax deduction,” Oakley says, “anyone can donate, and I hope you guys get involved.”
