Viner Uses The App’s Looping Feature To Make A Video Game

Vine isn’t exactly the first place you’d think of when you want to play a video game. However, one of the app’s savvy users took advantage of its video-looping feature to create a six-second matching game that’s fun for the whole family.

Viner Don Jose teamed up with fellow creator Jaime Soliz to create a post featuring the rapper Drake. Jose’s Vine shows a picture of the singer with his mouth removed from his face. Jose asks his fans to “help Drake get his smile back” as the rapper’s mouth scrolls across the screen from left-to-right. The post entices Jose’s followers (and any other person who stumbles across the creator’s unique use of Vine video) to try pausing the looped six-second video in order to re-align Drake’s mouth with the rest of his head. And a lot of viewers have been so enticed. The Drake “video game” Vine has over 8 million

loops as of this writing.

Don Jose may have started a new trend where other users attempt to replicate his mini-video game or use it as inspiration to create their own twists on the app’s short looping format. Jose, a “Dominican Viner trying to live the dream,” boasts over 169,000 followers on Vine.
