Cimorelli Signs Entertainment One Deal To Produce TV, Movie Content

Cimorelli has a lot to celebrate this holiday season thanks to production company Entertainment One. The YouTube mostly-a cappella singing group, consisting of six sisters from Malibu, California and boasting over 2.9 million subscribers on their main channel, has inked a multi-year deal with eOne to produce original TV, film, and digital content.

Under the agreement, Cimorelli and eOne plan to expand the sisters’ successful YouTube presence into traditional and new digital platforms. Several scripted and unscripted projects are already planned, and eOne will be responsible for producing and distributing the content to grow Cimorelli’s reach to new audiences. eOne’s Jesse Albert worked with Tony Novia for Cimorelli on the deal. Both will produce all projects along with Lynne Cimorelli (the six sisters’ mother).

“With nearly a billion views and an enormous fanbase around the world, the Cimorelli sisters have created a strong wholesome brand for themselves in the digital youth programming space,” said John Morayniss, Chief Executive Officer of eOne Television, in the release. “Bringing our expertise in film and television, eOne is dedicated to partnerships with top creative talent and to producing first-rate programming for all platforms. This relationship allows us to align eOne’s global strength to extend Cimorelli’s celebrity to film and television, as well as further enhance their digital efforts.”

“We are

excited to work with eOne and take what we’ve built on YouTube and extend it into film and television,” said Cimorelli, whose YouTube channel will still remain under the banner of AwesomenessTV. “eOne has an amazing team and we look forward to diving into a variety of new and exciting projects.”

The six sisters are in good company with other YouTubers who’ve recently inked partnerships for movie productions. The Fine Bros. just announced their plans for a feature-length film along with Big Block Entertainment Group. Plus, Cimorelli’s fellow AwesomenessTV creator Smosh has a movie in the works with the MCN, Defy Media, and Lionsgate.

Cimorelli has had a highly successful YouTube career, garnering over 700 million views to date from their music videos, DIY beauty tutorials, vlogs, and behind-the-scenes clips of their travels. The sisters are signed with Universal Music Group and also have their own VEVO channel with over 480,000 subscribers. Cimorelli recently starred in the AwesomenessTV’s branded web series Summer With Cimorelli created for Subway.

Cimorelli’s already-existing fanbase is massive, so if eOne manages to successfully leverage it, the partnership between the group and production company could be an easy win-win for television, film audiences, and everyone involved.
