Star Wars: Force For Change is pulling out all the stops for its Omaze campaign. Director J.J. Abrams has showed off a new design for the film franchise’s X-Wing spacecraft in order to encourage fans to donate to UNICEF and earn a chance to be in the Star Wars VII cast.
The Omaze campaign is part of Force For Change, an initiative launched by Disney that supports UNICEF through a number of charity campaigns. Abrams first announced the Omaze portion of Force For Change two months ago, when he took to YouTube to offer a spot in the upcoming Star Wars film to one lucky winner of Omaze’s virtual raffle.
Last week, Force For Change enlisted the help Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, who starred in a YouTube video supporting the Omaze campaign. Now, in the final week of the campaign, Abrams has returned to YouTube, where he premiered a snazzy new version of Luke Skywalker’s fighter jet. Those who want a closer look need to donate via Omaze, explains Abrams. The winner will receive a tour of the Star Wars VII set, among other perks.
For those who wish to enter this contest, the clock is ticking; the Omaze campaign ends in four days.
