Weird Al Is Isaac Newton In New ‘Epic Rap Battles Of History’ Episode

Epic Rap Battles Of History is two-thirds of the way through its current six-episode run, and the newest installment brings in one of the show’s biggest guest stars to date. Musical comedian “Weird Al” Yankovic has joined the ERB crew, taking the role of Isaac Newton in a physicist showdown.

In the two-minute battle, Yankovic hurls his best laws of motion-based zingers at Bill Nye, who is portrayed by Epic Rap Battles of History co-founder Nice Peter. Peter gets in some shots of his own before he passes the mic to rapper Chali 2na, who provides a spot-on Neil deGrasse Tyson impression. It’s a nerd battle of cosmic proportions.

Yankovic, whose VEVO channel has 240 million views, has also previously starred in videos on Nerdist and Funny or Die. His ERB guest appearance adds to that list, but it also serves as promotion for his upcoming album, Mandatory Fun. The funnyman hinted at a July 15th release date in a tweet sent on June 14th.

He and Chali 2na are the latest musicians to guest star on ERB. They join Snoop Dogg, who portrayed Moses in a season two episode.

With this battle in the books, there are only two more season three episodes of ERB still to come. The extremely popular series will soon eclipse ten million subscribers, which will make it one of the first 25 channels to reach that mark. By now, soccer fans have also glimpsed the channel on TV, as YouTube has run ads for ERB during every World Cup match. For viewers who tuned in after seeing that commercial, the Isaac Newton/Bill Nye battle provides an exemplary introduction.
