Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist is here. The fan web series based off of Capcom‘s classic series of fighting games has debuted on Machinima, where the first season is now available in its entirety.
Assassin’s Fist is a Street Fighter prequel that takes place during the formative years of close friends and protagonists Ken and Ryu. In the first episode, they train alongside their master, Goken.
The series is based off a fan film created by Joey Ansah, who is also the creative force behind Assassin’s Fist (and co-stars as Akuma). Through Machinima, Ansah will be able to easily reach his target audience.
The first season of Assassin’s Fist consists of 12 episodes (plus a prologue). Its similarities to Mortal Kombat: Legacy have been noted, though Assassin’s Fist features a slower pace and a lot more character development. Machinima viewers will have varying feelings about whether that’s a good creative decision or not, but the channel’s core audience should find the series to be a welcome treat.
